NOLA Family Member - Kamryn Scales

NOLA Family,
It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that one of our NOLA family member’s, Kamryn Scales, has been diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare blood disorder.  Kamryn (NOLA Lauren 13) was diagnosed late November 2016 and has been undergoing 2-3 blood transfusions weekly ever since.  She recently left New Orleans for MD Anderson in Houston, TX where she has begun her first round of treatment.  We ask that you keep Kamryn, her family and her team of physicians in your thoughts and prayers.
If you are able to offer more than your prayers, there are a few ways you can help:
1. Blood Drive: There will be a blood drive for Kamryn on SAT 1/28 at Zulu’s Ray Glapion Building (722 N. Broad Street) from 10am-4pm.  If you are able to donate, please be sure to mention that you are donating as “replacement for Kamryn Scales”.  In order to donate, you must be in good health, 17 years of age or older and a minimum of 110 lbs.  You can donate every 56 days and ALL blood types are needed.  Please be sure to bring a picture ID with you.
2. Kare for Kamryn: A family friend of the Scales has set up a GoFundMe page to help with the expenses that will be incurred during her treatment at MD Anderson Hospital.  If you are able to donate, please go to this link:
We would like to thank you in advance for your continuous support of the Scales family through this difficult time.
Thank you,
Dana, Julie and Lauren
